Hydrangea Petiolaris

Also known as the "Climbing Hydrangea". Slow to establish, but then vigorous, woody, deciduous climber, clinging by aerial roots. Ovate-rounded leaves to 12 cm long, with dark green, heart-shaped leaves, turning yellow in autumn. Bears domed corymbs of white fertile and sterile flowers up to 25 cm across in summer. Notable for thriving in shady areas, including north faces.
