Chamaedorea elegans (Parlour Palm)
Chamaedorea elegans (Parlour Palm)
Also known as the Parlour Palm. The graceful fronds of the Parlour Palm make this one of the most recognisable house plants. Popularised by the Victorians, it remains a firm favourite today. This elegant, slow growing palm boasts a stylish, architectural stature that complements almost any style of home. A reliable house plant for a bright room or conservatory, needing little maintenance throughout the year. Grow in bright, indirect light in average room temperatures of 18C (65F) - 24C (75F). Do not allow temperatures to fall below 12C (55F). Avoid positioning close to cold draughts and radiators. Water freely between spring and autumn allowing the pot to drain well after each watering. In winter, reduce watering, but do not allow the compost to dry out. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. (Outer pot not included)
