Agapanthus Dr. Brouwer (Blue)

Agapanthus are South African plants with strap-like leaves and showy flowers in shades of blue, violet or white. They're ideal for growing in containers, from which their pretty blooms stand tall, spilling over other pots. 'Dr Brouwer' is a wonderful dark-stemmed agapanthus, on which lilac-blue flowers appear in late-summer. It's a particularly dramatic-looking agapanthus, ideal for making a statement in a pot in a sunny corner, or planted en-masse in a large sunny border. For best results grow Agapanthus 'Dr Brouwer' in a sheltered, sunny spot, in moist but well-drained soil. In exposed areas protect from frost in winter. Alternatively, grow in pots and move indoors in autumn.
